Our Culinary Philosophy
Filoxenia (φιλοξενία) is a Greek word that literally means “friend to the stranger” (from filos = friend and xenos = stranger/guest.
In Greek culture, filoxenia represents much more than just hospitality — it’s a deeply rooted tradition of welcoming, honoring, and caring for guests with warmth, generosity, and respect. It’s about making someone feel at home, even if they are far from it, and treating them with kindness as though they were family.
In ancient Greece, filoxenia was even considered a sacred duty, protected by Zeus Xenios, the god of hospitality and guests. Today, it continues to embody the Greek spirit of open-hearted hosting, sharing food, and creating meaningful connections through hospitality.
